OC Legislature and town boards adopt Anti-CPV Resolution: The conviction of Joseph Percoco and the guilty plea of CPV executive Peter Gailbrath Kelly Jr. for corruption associated with the CPV Fracked gas power plant in Wawayanda, have prompted local officials to approve a resolution asking the Governor, NYSDOH, NYSDEC and NYS Attorney General to rescind the permits for the unnecessary and dangerous facility.

It is with great respect and determination that I announce my candidacy for the NYS 98th District Assembly seat. In the county I was born, in the place I’ve chosen to raise my own family, I commit to my fellow citizens, to the farms and villages, towns and cities, that I will protect the environment and unique heritage of our home, to understand the needs and concerns of the residents, to empower the people, and work hard to improve the system for everyone.
Bills of Interest
A00733: Requires legislative approval for the closure of certain office of mental health, office of people with developmental disabilities or office of children and family services facilities and institutions.
A03591: Creates the community opioid rehabilitation program services act and the opioid dependency services fund.
A00495: Prohibits bullying on school property and enacts the "Law to Encourage the Acceptance of All Differences (LEAD)".
A02518: Establishes the natural gas exploration and extraction liability act.
A03304: Prohibits the use of toxic fracking solutions during hydraulic fracturing.
A04497: Directs the commissioner of environmental conservation to establish rules and regulations to reduce significantly high levels of global warming emissions; sets stages for such reductions; establishes a mandatory reporting system to track and monitor such levels.
A08299: Enacts the New York state climate responsibility act; establishes the New York state climate action council to report on greenhouse gases, establish a greenhouse gas reduction plan and to set statewide greenhouse gas emission limits and targets.
A08902A: Relates to the operating permit program from sources subject to the federal Clean Air Act and power plant emissions and performance standards.
A03525: Relates to pay-to-play disclosure reform; requires reporting of contributions business entities have made to a candidate committee or election fund of certain public officers prior to contracts for procurement.
A00658: Seeks to comply with the federal equal pay act of 1963 by implementing a state policy of compensating employees in state service equally for work of comparable value by eliminating wage inequality in job titles having been segregated by sex, race or national origin.
A04100: Makes tuition free for New York state residents at SUNY and CUNY schools and community colleges; requires community service and state residency and employment for a period of five years after completion of academic program.
A08729: Grants a full real property tax exemption for the primary residence of a seriously disabled member of the armed forces of the United States.
A01632A: Enacts the integrity in government act; expands the powers and duties of the committee on open government.
A01532: Establishes the "Safe Staffing for Hospital Care Act"; establishes minimum staffing levels for various health care workers in different health care facilities; requires submission of staffing plans; prohibits most mandatory overtime.
S00809: Revives civil actions for certain sex offenses committed against a person less than eighteen years of age.
S2796: Complex and personal decisions about reproductive healthcare are the sole right and responsibility of a woman and her medical providers.
S3668: Enacts the "comprehensive contraception coverage act" to provide insurance coverage for FDA-approved contraceptive drugs, devices and products
